Roasting Room: Upcoming Shows 1/15 & 1/16

Let’s talk.

First off, Happy New Year!

Secondly, put Jesse Watkins in your thoughts and prayers for continued healing as he is recovering from a stroke he suffered this past week.  According to different sources, he should fully recover.  Great news so far!

Thirdly, we’ve got some tasty morsels for you coming up:

Friday Jan 15th:

The road dog himself, Spike Ivory, will be sharing the Roasting Room stage with Jeff Merrill.  Spike has been in the area for quite some time now, and Jeff is a relative newcomer.  Spike’s played seemingly everywhere on God’s green earth.  Jeff has played the Living Room, Bowery Ballroom and CBGB (not the one in Newark Airport!) with his former band Astronaut in NYC.    Chances are you’ve heard his music for promos for HGTV and other commercials (a distinction that makes him chuckle, in an ‘all-the-way-to-the-bank’ sort of way).  Call it what you will, I’ll call it good music.  Friday Jan 15th should be a great night.  Tell a friend and get your seats early.

Spike Ivory on iTunes: Spike Ivory – Velvet Chains

Jeff Merrill (Astronaut) on iTunes:  Astronaut – Evolve

Saturday Jan 16th:

Shane Marstiller, Nick Poulin, and Peter Buonaiuto are about to bring a trio of awesomeness to the Roasting Room stage.  Each are HHI musicians that play a wide range of covers for tourists, yet each have their own music.  Tasty.  What better place for the best of the best to come make noise than at the Roasting Room?  I can’t think of one.  Come on out in force to see these guys together (for the first time, probably) telling stories about their music.

Nick Poulin – Skinny Love (Bon Iver cover)

Shane Marstiller – Last Goodbye

Peter Buonaiuto – Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye

There you have it, dear reader.  I find it difficult to imagine not being satisfied by what’s being offered to the fine people of Bluffton in the first slated shows of the new year.  Yet if you’re still seeking more, stay tuned for the next installment of Upcoming Shows.  I have one hint: It starts with C and ends with a Ranford Hollow.

Much Love.
